I was recently given a Make Your Own Chocolate from Scratch Kit from Glee Gum to try out. Riley and I gave the kit a try a few nights ago. The kit comes with everything you need except vanilla. The process was pretty simple and Riley was able to help out with most of the process.

 

Everything in the kit is all natural so you don't have to worry about your child eating it. The kit comes with a history of chocolate lesson so you can make it into a learning time that includes eating something yummy at the end of the process! The hardest part about the process was waiting (with a two year old anxious to eat the chocolate) for the chocolate temperature to cool. It has to be at an exact temperature before you add the starter crystals that make the chocolate "shiny". If you mess this part up it does not effect the taste at all. If you follow the directions, it is hard to go wrong with this kit! Once the chocolate is done cooking you can add marshmallows, peanut butter, nuts, etc. Each piece can be customized.
