Progresso Light Creamy Soups Review

I was given the opportunity from MyBlogSpark to try the all new Progresso Light soups that contain only 100 calories per serving. I had the Light Creamy Potato with Bacon and Cheese soup while my husband had the Light Chicken Pot Pie Style. I love having soups this time a year and when I am short on time Progresso soups are my go-to. These soups are packed with satisfying flavors so now you can eat less calories without sacrificing the taste!

 

I also loved that the first few ingredients in both of these soups are broth, meat & veggies instead of ingredients I can not pronounce. If you are on Weight Watchers both of these soups are WW approved. If looking for a quick, easy, low calories dinner or lunch you need to try these out!

Green Mountain Coffee Wellness Collection Review

 

I take my coffee seriously!!   I rarely get up until I hear the beep of our  Grind and Brew coffee machine letting me know it is ready.  I drink my coffee black and love a nice smooth medium blend.  When Bzz Agent asked me if I wanted to review Green Mountains new Wellness Collection I was excited beyond belief.   I could try a new coffee that would actually improve my health. It seemed like a win-win.

 

Another benefit of this product is that Green Mountain Coffee takes their environmental and social responsibility seriously. The company emphasis ethical and environmental standards.  They have implemented  a higher value structure when it comes to how they treat their employees, coffee growers, to the land’s Eco-system from tree to cup.  This is something you don't see in other manufactures.  Interested in learning more, check out Green Mountain's Social Responsibility page.

There are two flavors in the Wellness Collection, the Focus Blend and an Antioxidant Blend. The Focus Blend  includes 50 mg L-Theanine (reduce stress and anxiety) while the Antioxidant Blend has Vitamin C and E. These are both 100% Fair Trade certified coffees!

Since I drink my coffee black I was really concerned about the flavor of  the enhanced coffee. GMC did not disappoint.  It had the same great taste we expect from them and there was no aftertaste.  I enjoyed the Antioxidant Blend slight better since it had a bolder taste.  Also, I reduced the amount of water per cup to about 9 oz. for a richer taste.  I love knowing a healthier choice in coffee has great flavor.  Over the few days I sampled these two types of blends I can not say that I noticed any health benefits but maybe over time the improvement would be noticeable.  I do know that I enjoyed the coffee and would purchase the Wellness blends.

Farm Rich Snack Review and Giveaway

We were recently asked to do a review and giveaway on Farm Rich snack and appetizers.  I was excited about this review because  with a teenage son it is always great to have  wholesome, easy to prepare snacks on hand that taste great.  Farm Rich did not disappoint.  Just place on a cookie sheet in the oven for around 15 minutes and your done.  Perfect for when my son is running between classes and work. 

 

Mozzarella Cheese sticks are a favorite when we dine out so we wanted to give these a try first. They were everything you would expect in a traditional cheese stick.  Crunchy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside.  I served them with a marinara sauce and ranch dressing for dipping. YUMMY!!

Next up we tried the Mini Quesadillas.  I loved these but they were not a favorite of my sons.  He was hoping for a little more kick. These are great as they are but I topped them mine a little salsa, sour cream and green onions.

- Tortilla-style crust

Free Chick-Fil-A on Wednesday

Leap Day, February 29th has always been a special day in our family because it was my Granny's Birthday. We thought that was so cool!  Really, how many people do you know who only have a birthday every 4 years?  Chick-Fil-A thinks it is a pretty cool event, too. Participating Chick-Fil-A Restaurants will be offering free Chicken Minis between 6:30 and 10:30 AM. Before setting your alarm contact your local store to see if they are participating.

This is not really a recipe but your kids will love putting their own fruit in this edible to go container.

Cow Appreciation Day

Lucky Lime Float

Ingredients:

Lime sherbet

Lemon Lime soda

Green sugar sprinkles

Whipped cream

Directions:

Place green sprinkles in a dish.  Wet rim of glass and dip in sprinkles.  Add two scoops of sherbet to the glass and pour soda over the top.  Top with whipped cream and additional sprinkles.

Rainbow Toast

Here is a great breakfast idea for St. Patrick's Day:
Ingredients:
White bread
food coloring or natural food dye
milk
new paintbrush
clean icecube tray

Directions:
Place a tablespoon of milk into 7 slots on the icecube tray.  Add food coloring to the milk to make the seven colors of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, indigo  Use the paintbrush to paint your rainbow on the bread.   Place the bread in the toaster on a light setting.  The colors will brighten as it toast.

Note:  You can paint the toast generously but don't make it soggy.  It is going in a toaster!

Do you love Chick-fil-A waffle fries?  Then, you are REALLY going to love Friday, March 4.  In promotion with Heinz Ketchup you can get a free medium fry when you ask for the new Heinz Dip & Squeeze ketchup and the Free FryDay promotion.   Offer is good from 2 -4 PM local time. Tasty Tuesday

Since we are celebrating Dr. Seuss this week I thought we would carry over the theme for Tasty Tuesday.  Kids will enjoy making this simple snack that looks like the hat worn by Dr. Seuss' Cat in the Hat!


Ingredients:
Vanilla Wafer (or Ritz cracker)
Red Gummy Lifesavers
Vanilla Frosting
Candle
Instructions:
Place the wafer cookie on a plate. Cover the cookie in vanilla frosting. Place a red gummy Lifesaver on the frosting, place another dab of frosting on the gummy Lifesaver, place another Lifesaver on the frosting. Continue making this pattern until you have  red and white striped Cat in the Hat hat. Top with a candle.

Chili's is one of my favorite resturants.  I don't think I have every had anything I didn't like and would be hard pressed to tell you what I enjoy the most .... too many to pick from.  During February Chili's is showing the LOVE!!  They are giving kids 12 and under FREE meals on February 8, 15, 21 & 22.  You can order two FREE kids meals per adult entree purchased!  Now that will make for a cheap family night out.
