Craft of the Week

Teacher Tom homemade pinball machine
I love this idea from Teacher Tom where they created a homemade pinball machine from an old building toy. This is a great project for kids and dads to work on together.

Tasty Tuesday

meatballs 009

I loved to have theme weeks in my classroom and tried to plan fun snacks for the kids to make along with the theme.  I had to be innovative since we did not have a kitchen. My crock pot was my friend. We would always make octopus hot dogs to go along with shell shaped mac and cheese. Checkout Sweet Peas and Bumblebee's for the easy to do lunch idea.

Break from the Blog

Things are hectic on the "home front" so bare with us for a few weeks here on the blog as post may be few and far between.   My youngest son is graduating high school and family is town for the celebration.  Then, my granddaughter will be spending a week with her Nana.  I can't wait. After her visit it is off to FSU for orientation.  We will post when we can and will get back to our regular features as soon as we can.

Free Home Depot Workshop

Kids will love being able to give dad a gift they made by themselves so be sure to check out this months workshop at Home Depot.
Home Depot workshops teach children ages 5 -12 do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Also, what a great way to share one on one time with you child. Oh yeah, they are FREE.
In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized Home Depot apron and an achievement pin.
