Heart Hide-n-Seek

Today's activity for love week is a variation on hide-n-seek, Riley's favorite. Take a piece of construction paper cut into a heart or something in the shape of a heart (we used a cookie cutter) and hide it somewhere in your house for your child(ren) to find. Depending on their age you could hide several hearts for them to find. Then let them take a turn to hide the heart for you to find!

Valentine's Tic-Tac-Toe

With construction paper cut out a heart and then draw out a Tic-Tac-Toe board in marker. Use different color Hershey Kisses or Valentine heart candy for your X & O's. When the game is over let your children eat the candy! You are not required to let your children win.

*My camera is broken so the game board looks like the picture above but with candy.

You can make family game night a tradition at your house with Wits & Wagers Family from Amazon for only $16.67.  Grab this deal now because prices at Amazon change often.

Toys R Us Deals

I went to Toys R Us to try to pick up this deal so I could have some inexpensive items to donate to an area toy drive but our store was out of the games I needed to get the best price.  I will try again later in the week when they restock.
So if you haven't hit the stores yet I would head out soon and pick up these great deals.
Deal 1: Get a $10.00 gift card when you buy $35.00 in Hasbro games. Combine this with the Hasbro mail-in rebate that you can print online or pick up in stores, and you can score 7 Hasbro board games for as low as $13.00 after $10.00 gift card and $12.00 in rebates.
Deal 2: Buy 2 PS3 or Xbox 360 games for $59.99 and get a $25.00 gift card, plus a $10.00 gift card for a purchase over $75.00.  This makes the games $30.00 each.

Fisher-Price Games and Printables for Preschoolers

I was on the Fisher-Price site checking out a new computer game for 3-7 year olds that I think my granddaughter would love, the IXL.  I discovered they have some great online games, activities, and theme printables and cards.  So if you are looking for something new to do with your kids you might check it out.

Make a Splash!

I don't know about you but this summer heat is getting to me! Anything involving playing outdoors with my daughter must include water. Here are a few new games that will keep your kids cool until the temperatures dip.

DUCK DUCK DOUSE
Play this classic game and instead of tagging the chaser with "goose," let the kids pour a cup of water on their head! It will bring many laughs and will cool the kids off on a hot day! Age: 3+

MAIN SQUEEZE
Setup two small buckets about ten feet apart, one full of water and one empty. Give each player a sponge and have them race to transfer water from the full bucket to the empty one. Age: 3+

YOU'RE IT
Host a game of squirt bottle tag. Draw six-inch circles on construction paper and tape one to each player's back. Once you bull's-eye gets soaked with water, you're out. Age: 4+

TOSS ACROSS
Instead of water balloons fill a small resealable bag with water and see how long you can keep it aloft with the kids. Jazz it up with a few drops of food coloring. Age: 4+
