Back to School Party

For many around the country summer vacation is winding down and for others school has already started.  Either way a wonderful way to kick off the start of a new school year is to host a back to school party.  Invite the neighborhood kids, new classmates, and old friends to share in the fun.

Invitations:
Tie a note on a real apple and hand deliver.
Attach a note to a pencil
Notepad - Write the invite on the first page

Decorations:
Apples, books, school buses, pencils and other school supplies.
Balloons and streamers in school colors.

Games and Activities
Pencil Box Game

Fill a pencil box with 10 -15 school items: scissors, pencil, erasers, crayon, marker,  notepad, ruler, stickers, pencil sharpner, etc...  Open the box and let the kids look inside for 30 seconds then have them write down as many items as they can remember.

Get ready for school race
Pack lunch bag, collect homework, put on back pack, run to the "bus stop" or "school building" (a designated area)

Show and Tell

Build a Sandwich
Place all the items on the table with directions on how to make their sandwich.  Have a race to see who can build the sandwich correctly the quickest.
