Borax Review and Giveaway

 
I love when Purex Insider picks me to review a product and share my views with you.  I get to try products I love and then I get to share them with you through a giveaway!!  It is so much fun to WIN!!
Borax is most popular as a laundry booster but I love the many other uses it has around our home. Here are a few ways I like to use Borax.
*  It keeps bugs at bay.  I have sprinkled this in the walls of our homes and we have never had a major issue with bugs.  We live in Florida so that is saying a great deal!
 
* It is a water softener.
* Removes stains from laundry.
* Deodorizes toilets, laundry, mattress, carpets (test first), stinky shoes.
* Clean toilets by placing 1 cup of  Borax in your  toilet overnight, swish the next day and flush. 
* Make slime!! (my favorite thing to do with Borax)
  1. In one bowl mix 1/2 cup (4 oz) glue and 1/2 cup water. Add food coloring if you want colored slime.
  2. In the other bowl, mix 1 teaspoon borax with 1 cup water until the borax is dissolved.
  3. Add the glue mixture to the borax solution, stirring slowly.
  4. The slime will begin to form immediately; stir as much as you can, then dig in and knead it with your hands until it gets less sticky. (No one makes slime without getting a little messy!) Don't worry about any extra water,  just pour it out.  Source: Home Science Tools.

    besides taking out nasty stains--it helps remove hard water spotting on the shower head--soaking the head in a plastic bag with a paste of borax on the head

    I use borax for all my stains, soaking it with borax/tide, last week it got out dark brown hair color from my favorite fsu alumni shirt.

    I complied with all the extra and manditory entries. I love your blog! Here is my unique use for Borax.
    Unclog drains with 1/2 cup of borax followed by 2 cups of boiling water. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then run your water for a few minutes to flush it out.
