Since most of the country is covered in snow (except here in beautiful SW Florida) I thought I would share one of my favorite winter books The Mitten by Jan Brett. It is an Ukrainian folktale about a young boy who loses his mitten while walking in the snow. It soon becomes a cozy home for a host of woodland creatures. The illustrations are exquisite, perfectly capturing the wintry setting.
